Skinny Jeans: Who Isn't Wearing Them?

We all know that skinny jeans are one of the most ubiqutous items of clothing on the High Street. Every celebrity worth their salt has been snapped sporting them. Nearly everyone you know owns at least one pair. Even Newsagents are selling them now. However, there are still a few people out there who have yet to succmb to the skinny jeans spell.............

1) Your Dad - thats right, your old man definitely doesnt own a par of skinny jeans, unless he has managed to hold onto a pair of old relics from his glory days (60s/early 70s) that hold some sort of sentimental value. Nowadays he prefers straight leg Levi's or a sensible pair of Chino's.




2) MC Hammer - really, do i need to explain? Hammer would rather live in Dundee for a year than try and fit into a pair of skinny jeans.



3) Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Governator has never owned a pair of Skinnies for two reasons:

• A) He has thighs the width of a mature Sycamore
• B) He's totally minted and can afford the best clothes that a man can buy

4) Prince Charles - Not afraid of wearing a skinny trouser when playing Polo. We seriously doubt however that Prince Charles' old dear would approve if he turned up to a banquet with the Sultan of Brunei wearing a pair of AllSaints Skinnies.

July 2009: What's Going On In The World of Jeans?

Well folks, it's been a crazy couple of weeks hasn't it? The whole Michael Jackson thing has literally consumed every concieveable media space, and led to a predictable rush of Michael fashion posts - we are not going to jump on that particular bandwagon, let's leave the guy in peace.

Anyway, back to our favourite subject - Jeans, and what you may have missed over the last couple of weeks.

• Men's Skinny Jeans booming in popularity - We knew this about 2 years ago, but i suppose Gap and Levi's coming on board finally makes Skinny for men truly mainstream. We would still urge caution though guys.

• Meanwhile, over at Womens Health Magazine you can describe the jeans you're wearing at the moment, if you are suffiently witty then you might even get featured in the October issue of the magazine.

• Britney Spears is back! Again! and this time she's modelling jeans for Candie's - looking good.

As you can see, there hasn't been a great deal going on, let us know if you've found anything cool.

How old are your favorite Jeans

Everyone has at-least one 1 pair of jeans that they just cant let go of every time they have a clear out. Every year I must go through about 3-5 pair of new jeans and every year my collection keeps getting bigger and bigger. This is because - out of every 3-5 pair I buy each year there is always one pair of jeans that refuse to fade or go out of fashion.

My best pair I have at the moment are about three years old and they still look the part. My partners are even better, we first met 5 years ago, for her birthday I took her shopping and she got these cracking light coloured rough textured denims, they are still her favorite jeans to this day. First up is these stunning Black Jeweled Combat Trousers from Peacocks, these are a must for your wardrobe this year, every women has to have a pair of black combats and these come in at number 1, stylish yet very comfortable, they feature a white trim round the stitching, some nice jeweled details around the front and back pockets of the combats. All of this for a measly £9.






2. These come in at No2, ideal for comfort and traveling, they really do look good and once again they are very comfortable, the wide leg design makes them very airy and perfect for keeping that little bit cooler on a warm summer days. Priced at £22 from Littlewoods.










3. Last but certainly not least are these white linen trousers from Debenhams, priced at £15 and great value for money, clean, smart and fresh looking. Ideal for wearing when doing your day to day business like going to shops or visiting friends and family, all without the hassle of spending ages in front of the mirror.

I would recommend all three of these trousers to anyone, the ones we have selected are very different from each other making this trio the ideal casual trouser set for your wardrobe this year.
